AI App Wabi Raises $55M at $1.25B Valuation After Pivot to Personal Agent
Wabi is shifting from prompt-built mini apps to a “personal agent” that generates interfaces for tasks like meal planning, fitness plans, and date nights. Founded by Replika creator Eugenia Kuyda, it raised $55M at a $1.25B valuation, led by IVP.
Wabi, an AI app that lets users build mini apps through prompts, announced on October 29, 2026 that it has raised $55 million at a $1.25 billion valuation. The funding round was led by IVP, with participation from Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), Forerunner, and the Amazon Alexa Fund.
The company was founded by Eugenia Kuyda, who previously founded AI companion startup Replika. Last month, Wabi announced a pivot to become an AI messenger, rebranding its updated product as Wabi 2.0. The new direction positions Wabi as a “personal agent” capable of building interfaces on the fly to help users complete tasks — including meal planning, tracking local restaurants, planning date nights, creating fitness plans, and designing trivia games.
Angel investors joining the round include Shopify CEO Tobi Lütke, Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff, former Yahoo! head Marissa Mayer, former Twitter CEO Dick Costolo, and musician Alex Pall of The Chainsmokers.
“Eugenia has a unique sense for where AI is headed and a track record of great taste in building it,” said Alex Lim, general partner at IVP, in a statement. “She has a clear vision for how people will interact with AI, one that goes far beyond the text box or command line. Wabi is the expression of that vision, and we’re thrilled to support her.”
The raise comes amid broader investor interest in AI agents. The source notes that viral AI agent Instinct raised at a $10 billion valuation in September 2026, and Tolan, an AI companion app, recently closed a $30 million round. The new funding suggests Wabi’s investors see potential in its agentic approach, though whether the pivot will translate into sustained user growth remains to be seen.
