Amazon’s Alexa for Shopping can now create and edit lists, manage registries, update delivery instructions, investigate charges and refunds, and pause or modify recurring deliveries. The U.S. rollout builds on its May 2026 launch.

Amazon is expanding its Alexa for Shopping AI assistant with new features that allow users to create and edit shopping lists, manage gift registries, and handle delivery and billing tasks, the company announced in October 2026.

The updates let users ask Alexa for Shopping to perform actions such as “Create a new shopping list” or “Show me what’s left on my wedding registry,” including the ability to move items between lists and registries. The assistant can now also update delivery instructions, answer questions about unrecognized charges and refunds, and pause or modify recurring deliveries. The new features are rolling out to customers in the United States.

Alexa for Shopping is accessible next to the search bar across Amazon’s app and website. The assistant already supports functions such as setting price alerts, comparing products, and automatically purchasing items when they fall below a specified price threshold.

Amazon first officially launched Alexa for Shopping in May 2026 and has continued to add capabilities since then. The company has also moved to limit third-party AI shopping agents from companies including Meta and Perplexity from operating within its platform.

The additions suggest Amazon is positioning Alexa for Shopping as a broader account management tool, not just a product discovery aid. For frequent Amazon shoppers, the ability to handle billing questions and recurring delivery changes directly through the assistant may reduce the need to navigate account settings manually.
