AMD launched FSR Upscaling 4.1 for Radeon RX 7000-series graphics cards on June 22, 2026, bringing improved image quality and smoother gameplay to owners of those cards. The release arrives ahead of AMD’s original July timeline, which the company announced in May 2026.
The RX 7000-series GPUs use AMD’s RDNA 3 graphics architecture. According to AMD’s Jack Huynh, FSR 4.1 is already supported in more than 300 games. Two additional titles are set to add support shortly: Doom: The Dark Ages Revelations, launching July 7th, and Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, releasing July 9th.
AMD is also working to expand FSR 4.1 beyond the RX 7000 series. Huynh stated that the company is “developing lightweight machine learning models to bring FSR 4.1 to even more devices,” with plans to extend support to RDNA 3 APUs as well. Support for RDNA 2 cards is planned for early 2027.
For owners of RX 7000-series hardware, the update could mean a meaningful upgrade in visual performance without requiring a new graphics card. The broader rollout to RDNA 3 APUs and eventually RDNA 2 cards suggests AMD is working to extend the technology’s reach across a wider range of its installed user base.
