Angle Health raises $200M Series C at $2.7B valuation to expand small business health insurance platform
Angle Health says its AI-powered platform now serves more than 5,000 businesses and has reached profitability. The round includes a $400 million tender offer for employees, with the Series C expected to close later in September 2026.
Health insurance startup Angle Health announced on September 18, 2026, that it has raised a $200 million Series C round at a $2.7 billion valuation, alongside a $400 million tender offer that allows employees to cash out a portion of their shares. The round was led by Vitruvian Partners, with participation from Town Hall Ventures, Blumberg Capital, Portage Ventures, PruVen Capital, and Y Combinator. The company expects the round to close later in September 2026.
Founded in 2019 and a Y Combinator winter 2020 cohort alumnus, Angle Health focuses on helping small businesses obtain and manage “level-funded” health plans — a category that sits between fully insured and self-funded health coverage. In a fully insured plan, the carrier absorbs all risk, making costs predictable but typically higher. Self-funded plans shift that risk to the employer, leaving costs unpredictable. Level-funded plans offer a middle ground: businesses make fixed payments to carriers, receive protection against unexpectedly high costs, and may receive a share of any surplus if claims come in below projections.
Angle Health operates an AI-powered platform that helps small businesses select and manage these plans, with integrations into payroll and HR systems. The company says it currently serves more than 5,000 businesses and has reached profitability.
The raise is notable in the current funding environment, where Series C rounds for startups founded before the recent AI wave are relatively uncommon. Angle Health’s focus on making health coverage more affordable for small businesses through level-funded plans appears to have driven its growth to this scale, though the company has not disclosed specific revenue figures.
