Apple released iOS 27.2 on October 27, 2026, bringing expanded Siri AI language support, new hardware features, and more than 160 security fixes to iPhones and iPads.

Siri can now be used in French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish, all in beta. The AI assistant also gains the ability to remember details from past conversations and draw on information from photos in Messages, calendar event attendees, voicemails, Safari history, and reading lists. Users can choose which apps to exclude from Siri’s memory.

The update adds Apple Pencil support for the foldable iPhone Duo in apps including Notes and Preview, along with an Edge Light effect for improving face visibility during video calls. FaceTime gains a Dual Capture mode that streams from the front and rear cameras simultaneously during group calls, and users can now add a third-party sign language interpreter or live captioner to a call.

iOS 27.2 also introduces message-to-reminder and message-to-calendar suggestions, caption editing in Shared Albums, and a refreshed Podcasts app that surfaces new and in-progress episodes. Apple has also brought Multiview to iPhone, allowing users to watch up to four live sports streams at once — including Major League Soccer, Formula 1, and MLB Friday Night Baseball doubleheaders — on Apple TV.

The update includes over 160 security fixes, many of which have been backported to iOS 26. Apple separately backported a specific fix to iOS 18 — first released in 2024 — for a vulnerability the company says may have been exploited “in an extremely sophisticated attack against specific targeted individuals on versions of iOS before iOS 27.” Apple did not identify who was responsible. The company notes that approximately 80% of iPhone owners are still running iOS 26.
