The Browser Company has announced it will shut down its Arc browser on December 22nd, 2026, ending support across all platforms and deactivating user accounts.

The shutdown is rolling out in stages. As of now, new Arc accounts can no longer be created. On November 23rd, Arc’s Browse for Me feature and other AI features will be disabled on iOS and Android, and users will no longer be able to sign in or sync their tabs. On December 22nd, Arc will become inaccessible on macOS and Windows, accounts will be deactivated, and Arc Search for Android will be removed from Google Play.

The Browser Company shifted its focus to developing Dia, an AI-focused browser, last year. While the company had continued to maintain Arc alongside Dia, it is now directing all resources — including its security team — exclusively to Dia. The company has published an FAQ to help Arc users import their data into Dia.

The Browser Company was acquired by Atlassian for $610 million last year. Arc had introduced a number of browser concepts that have since appeared in other products. For users seeking a similar experience, the Zen browser — built on Mozilla’s Gecko engine — has been a frequently cited alternative.
