Chrome’s AI Autofill Will Pull Flight Numbers, Order Details, and More From Your Gmail

Google’s AI autofill can pull flight confirmations, package tracking, addresses and credit card numbers from Gmail. The optional feature encrypts sensitive data and is rolling out to U.S. Chrome desktop users and Gemini in Chrome on iOS and Android.

Google announced in October 2026 that its Chrome browser will gain an enhanced autofill feature powered by AI, allowing it to pull relevant information directly from a user’s Gmail inbox to help fill out online forms.

The feature can surface details such as flight confirmation numbers, membership IDs, package tracking information, order numbers, addresses, phone numbers, and credit card numbers by referencing emails in a user’s inbox. The update is an expansion of Google’s Personal Intelligence, which already lets users connect Google Apps to the Gemini AI assistant to retrieve details and answer complex questions.

The capability is rolling out to U.S. users on Chrome desktop, as well as through the iOS and Android apps for Gemini in Chrome.

As with other Personal Intelligence features, enabling enhanced autofill is optional and can be toggled in Chrome settings. Google notes that sensitive data is encrypted.

The update could give users an additional reason to remain within Google’s browser and AI ecosystem. Google drew a comparison to a widely used Apple feature — the ability to automatically detect one-time verification codes sent via text message and display them above the keyboard for one-tap entry — suggesting a similar convenience-driven appeal.
