Delta 2.0 brings Sega Genesis support, iPhone Duo optimization, and a redesigned UI to iOS emulator
Released October 22, 2026, the update adds Sega Genesis emulation, iPhone Duo-specific controller skins, and Liquid Glass UI changes. It also introduces Pokémon GBA DLC, GB/SN Operator support, and customizable CRT-style filters.
Delta, the popular iOS gaming emulator, has been updated to version 2.0 with a range of new features, including optimized support for Apple’s iPhone Duo foldable device, Sega Genesis emulation, and a redesigned interface built around Apple’s Liquid Glass design language. The update was published on October 22, 2026.
Delta app creator Riley Testut told The Verge that the iPhone Duo support optimizes controller skins for every pose in both portrait and landscape orientations, while still allowing split-view multitasking alongside other apps. Folding the Duo puts emulated Nintendo DS games into sleep mode, mirroring the behavior of closing a real DS lid.
The update adds Sega Genesis emulation with new iPhone and iPad controller skins designed to recreate the look of the classic Genesis controller. Delta 2.0 also introduces a DLC feature offering custom in-game experiences for classic Pokémon games on the Game Boy Advance, including event items and rare Pokémon. Testut said the first DLC is coming “soon” and was developed by the Pokémon ROM hacking community without the use of AI tools.
Experimental features in the update include support for Epilogue’s GB/SN Operator gadgets, which allow users to play original Nintendo cartridges on iPhone or iPad, and Custom Filters that change the visual appearance of games using overlay effects, including a CRT-style option or user-imported filters.
The app’s UI has been overhauled to align with Apple’s Liquid Glass design language, adapting across iPhones, iPads, and the iPhone Duo. Additional changes include animated controller skins with third-party design support, new “recents” and “favorites” library pages, and expanded settings options.
Delta 2.0 also marks the app’s first release on the EU App Store, making it available globally on Apple’s marketplace alongside AltStore PAL in supported regions. A new in-app “Become a Patron” purchase option has been added as well, introducing global support for in-app purchases for the first time.
