Fambot, a new startup, launched an AI “chief of staff” for parents in September 2026, designed to help families manage the emails, calendars, school updates, sports schedules, and WhatsApp groups that come with raising children.
The company was founded by CEO David Reich — a former president at UnitedMasters and ex-Uber product head who led the 250-person Uber Transit team — alongside CTO Greg Karlin, a former Instagram engineer, and co-founder Jason Morrow, previously of Google and LinkedIn. Reich, a father of three, said the product grew out of his own frustration spending an hour each evening catching up on roughly 40 emails instead of time with his kids.
To use Fambot, families connect their email, calendar, and relevant WhatsApp groups. The app then generates a daily checklist of to-dos and a forward-looking view of upcoming calendar events. Users can interact with the bot via text, or through a web or mobile app interface — a distinction the company highlights as a differentiator from text-only AI agents. Fambot uses a combination of AI models, none of which train on user data, the company says.
The startup tested the product with more than 1,000 families before launch and found demand extended beyond dual-income households to single-parent families, only-child households, and families where parents don’t work. Fambot says there are 43 million families in the U.S. with children under 16.
Fambot has raised $3.5 million in pre-seed funding, co-led by NextView Ventures and Baukunst, with participation from Correlation Ventures, Karman Ventures, and Founders Network. The app is currently free during beta testing on iOS, Android, and the web. The company expects to eventually price the service at roughly the cost of a Netflix subscription, though that figure could change.
