Flai Raises $27 Million Series A as Its AI Dealership Software Reaches 50,000 Monthly Appointments

Flai’s platform now handles 50,000 dealership appointments monthly, up from its phone-answering roots, while revenue grew 20x in a year. The startup works with 10+ of the top 50 U.S. dealer groups and raised $27M led by Base10.

Flai, a startup that builds AI-powered software for car dealerships, announced in October 2026 that it has closed a $27 million Series A funding round and grown revenue 20x over the past year, with its platform now scheduling 50,000 appointments per month across sales and service operations.

The Series A was led by Base10 Partners, an automation-focused investment firm. Additional participants included dealer groups Friedkin Group and Findlay Automotive, Toyota’s venture arm, Y Combinator, and First Round Capital.

Flai’s software manages inbound and outbound customer communications — phone calls, emails, and texts — while also running outbound campaigns, alerting dealership leadership to issues, and following up with customers. The company now works with more than 10 of the top 50 dealer groups in the United States. CEO Ari Polakof told TechCrunch the platform has expanded well beyond its origins as a phone-answering tool. “We’ve grown quite a bit from just a phone solution to more of a platform,” he said.

The company has also demonstrated multilingual capability. Earlier in 2026, Flai launched with a luxury dealer group in Puerto Rico whose customers switch between Spanish and English mid-conversation. That deployment began with inbound service calls and expanded to sales across all eight of the group’s stores.

Polakof attributed much of Flai’s customer growth to word-of-mouth referrals among dealers, noting that half of the company’s revenue now comes from new customers. He also cited fast deployment — software can go live within 10 days of a signed contract — and a commitment to responding to customers within 20 minutes as factors driving retention.

Flai’s team has grown to around 40 people. The 20x revenue increase and investor backing from dealer groups and Toyota’s venture arm suggest the automotive AI software market is drawing significant commercial and financial interest, though how broadly that growth will continue remains to be seen.
