Instagram Arrives on Apple TV With Reels and Live Stream Support

Instagram’s Apple TV app surfaced in the App Store on October 23, 2026, adding Reels and live streams to the living-room platform. It follows expanded TV availability on Fire TV, Samsung Smart TVs and Google TV in June.

Instagram is now available on Apple TV, expanding the platform’s presence on living room screens. The update was spotted by MacRumors on October 23, 2026, when an updated Instagram app appeared in the App Store listing Apple TV as a compatible platform. Archived versions of the app page from as recently as October 18th had listed only iPad and iOS.

Meta, Instagram’s parent company, made the move with little public announcement. The Apple TV addition brings the app to yet another TV platform, joining Amazon’s Fire TV, Samsung Smart TVs, and Google TV, where it has been available since an expanded launch in June 2026.

Instagram first began testing a TV-focused version of the app in December 2025. The version is built around video content — including Reels and live streams — formatted for larger screens.

The Apple TV app is likely to play a role in Instagram’s broader push into longer-form and episodic content, as the platform looks to capitalize on the growing popularity of microdramas.
