Meta Launches Muse AI Agent for Email, Shopping, and More — With a Tamagotchi-Style Device to Follow
Using Muse for shopping requires users to share personal data and grant Meta credit-card access. Launched in September 2026, the agent will also be paired with the Muse Charm, a Tamagotchi-like device tied to its AI mascot.
Meta launched an AI agent called Muse in September 2026, positioning it as a tool capable of handling tasks ranging from sending emails to making purchases online on a user’s behalf.
According to Meta, Muse can be effective at carrying out those tasks, but doing so requires users to share their personal data with the company and provide the agent with credit card access for shopping functions.
Since the launch, Meta has also announced plans for a physical companion device called the Muse Charm — a Tamagotchi-like gadget tied to Muse’s AI mascot.
The combination of broad data access and payment handling this could raise questions for users weighing the convenience of an AI agent against the privacy trade-offs involved in granting Meta that level of access to their personal and financial information.
