Pinterest Launches AI Room Redesign Feature Called Restyle in U.S. and Canada

Pinterest’s Restyle beta lets users visualize furniture, decor, paint, plants and lighting in photos of their own rooms, with products from Pinterest added directly. It launches in the U.S. and Canada, with broader availability planned for next month.

Pinterest announced in September 2026 that it is launching a new AI-powered feature called “Restyle” in beta across the U.S. and Canada, allowing users to visualize how furniture, decor, lighting, and other home items would look in photos of their own rooms.

The feature was unveiled at Pinterest’s annual Pinterest Presents event and is powered by Pinterest Intelligence, which combines Nvidia Blackwell GPUs and Nvidia Dynamo with open-source models and Pinterest-built technology. Restyle is currently available as an early preview, with a broader rollout planned for next month.

With Restyle, users can take a photo of their space and prompt the AI to add or modify elements — including wall art, furniture, accessories, plants, paint colors, and lighting. Items found on Pinterest can be incorporated directly into the visualization. Users can also click on individual objects in the room to swap them out or erase them, or ask the AI to reimagine the entire space in a different style, such as “bohemian,” “industrial,” “whimsical,” or “dopamine.”

Pinterest said the feature is designed to help users move from browsing and saving inspiration to imagining how those items would actually look in their own homes. By seeing saved products in a real-world context, users may be more likely to complete a purchase — potentially closing the gap between pinning and buying.

Pinterest acknowledged that AI-assisted room redesign is not a new concept, but noted that integrating it directly into the platform could allow users to do more with content they have already saved to their boards.

Alongside Restyle, Pinterest used the Pinterest Presents event to introduce new visual search ads, app promotion features, and additional tools aimed at advertisers.
