Steam Adds Achievement Sets to Group Base Game and DLC Progress Separately
Steam now groups achievements into developer-defined sets with separate progress bars for base games and DLC. Completing a set adds a “set complete” trophy to profiles, while seasonal sets can support archived, time-limited events.
Valve introduced a new Steam feature called “achievement sets” in October 2026, allowing developers to organize a game’s achievements into distinct groups for base games and DLCs rather than displaying them as a single long list.
Players still unlock achievements by playing as usual, but the updated display breaks achievements into developer-created sets, each with its own progress bar. Completing a full set earns a “set complete” trophy that appears on the player’s profile. Steam will also support seasonal achievement sets that developers can archive, which Valve says could enable time-limited holiday achievements or season-based content.
“When you browse what you have unlocked afterward, Steam will break the long list of game achievements into the developer-created sets, making it easier to see what you have completed and to find other related achievements you can unlock next,” Valve said.
Alongside achievement sets, Valve is refreshing the Steam Achievements page to display a summary of overall progress, per-set progress, and details on individual achievements.
A number of games already support the feature at launch, including Against the Storm , Age of Wonders 4 , American Truck Simulator , Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 , Crusader Kings III , DREDGE , Euro Truck Simulator 2 , Forza Horizon 5 , Left 4 Dead 2 , Portal 2 , PowerWash Simulator , PowerWash Simulator 2 , Team Fortress 2 , and Victoria 3 , among others.
The new achievement features are currently available through the latest Steam client beta.
