Threads Adds Podcast Promotion Tools Including Profile Cards, Episode Links, and Audience Insights

Threads now lets podcast hosts share tappable episode cards, transcripts, and guest tags, with profile banners and save options keeping shows visible. Creators also get episode reminders and views broken down by followers, non-followers, and total reach.

Meta announced on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, that its social network Threads is rolling out a suite of new tools designed to help podcast creators promote their shows, grow their audiences, and engage listeners directly on the platform.

The new features include a podcast profile card and banner displayed on a creator’s profile and in their posts. When creators share episode links, those links appear as tappable cards, making it easier for users to listen without leaving the platform. Podcast hosts can also post episode transcripts directly on Threads and tag featured guests, which generates a related card in the post. Users can save any of these posts to return to an episode later.

Threads will also send reminders to creators when a new episode drops, prompting them to post on the platform — a feature that could help boost engagement with listeners. Additionally, Threads is providing audience insight tools that surface metrics such as views over time, broken down by followers, non-followers, and overall reach.

The rollout builds on steps Threads took last year to increase podcast-related discussion, including improved link cards and the ability for creators to link their profiles to their podcasts. The latest update goes further by integrating promotional and analytical tools more deeply into the creator experience.

The move comes as rival platform X has also been encouraging creators to post videos and podcasts directly, with revenue and engagement incentives. Threads is not looking to host podcasts itself but aims to position the platform as a hub for podcast promotion and discussion. As of June 2026, Threads had reached 500 million active users, placing it close to X in terms of user base.
