Instagram began rolling out a new feature on September 10, 2026, that allows users to add posts they’ve been tagged in directly to their main profile grid.
Previously, tagged posts lived only in the separate Tagged tab on a user’s profile. With the update, users can move those posts to their grid from three places: the direct message notification received when tagged, the post itself, or the Tagged tab. The original post remains untouched — adding it to a grid does not duplicate or delete it — and users can remove it from their profile at any time without affecting the Tagged tab.
Instagram notes the feature could also be useful for creator collaborations, giving creators a way to highlight posts they’ve been tagged in without republishing content or using the “Invite collaborators” option. It may also benefit brand campaigns where multiple creators want to surface shared content on their individual profiles.
The update is part of a broader effort by Instagram to give users more control over how their profiles appear. In June, the platform introduced a “Reorder your grid” feature, letting users rearrange content on their main profile grid. Instagram has also recently added “First Draft,” an editing tool that automatically trims video clips and removes pauses to produce an initial cut, and “Replace Audio,” which lets users update the music on an existing post at any time.
