Voicemod announced the Key Pocket in 2026, a new hardware device that brings real-time voice changing and soundboard features to smartphones and tablets running iOS, iPadOS, or Android with a USB-C port.
The Key Pocket is available now as a standalone device for $99.90, or as part of a $129.90 bundle that pairs the hardware with a Voicemod Pro license. The Pro license — worth the additional $30 — provides lifetime access to over 200 voices created by Voicemod, more than 76,000 community-made voices, custom voice creation, and cloud syncing across platforms, with no ongoing subscription required.
The device builds on the original Voicemod Key dongle, which launched in late 2024 as a way to bring voice changing to gaming consoles including Xbox, PlayStation, and Switch. That earlier model used a smartphone only as an interface between the Voicemod app and the console. The Key Pocket goes further, enabling voice changing directly during mobile gaming, phone calls, and streaming on the device itself.
The hardware works as an external audio bridge. A wired or Bluetooth microphone connects to the Key Pocket, the Voicemod mobile app processes and alters the audio, and the modified output is then passed to other apps — such as Fortnite, Roblox, Discord, or calling apps — via a short USB-C cable. This approach works around mobile operating system restrictions that prevent apps from directly intercepting and altering microphone audio sent to other apps.
The Key Pocket features six programmable buttons for switching voices or triggering soundboard clips, a dedicated mute button, and a customizable LED dial for adjusting voices or volume. It can also magnetically attach to the back of phones or tablets that support magnetic accessories. The device is also compatible with current-generation consoles, including the Switch 2 and recent Meta Quest headsets.
