Nvidia announced at Gamescom 2026 that its GeForce Now cloud gaming service will officially support Valve’s Steam Controller and Steam Machine later this year. Users running the GeForce Now app on a Steam Deck or Steam Machine will be able to play games using Valve’s gamepad once support arrives. For Windows and macOS users, Steam Controller support is coming at an unspecified later date.
The Steam Controller additions are part of a broader set of updates coming to GeForce Now. Nvidia plans to add new DLSS 4.5 controls covering DLSS Super Resolution, Dynamic Frame Generation, and Ray Reconstruction. Ray Reconstruction is also launching for RTX GPUs in early access. A previously announced GOG single sign-on feature is now available, and the service will expand to more Amazon Fire TV Sticks later this year, with subscriptions purchasable through Amazon. As of last week, GeForce Now is also accessible on Firefox.
Nvidia also shared details about its upcoming RTX Spark chip family at the event. EA, Embark, and Ubisoft are planning to support the chip, which is set to launch this fall. Games confirmed for RTX Spark support include EA Sports F1 25, Apex Legends, Arc Raiders, and Anno 117: Pax Romana. EA is additionally working on native support for its Javelin Anticheat technology for its largest multiplayer titles.
Separate announcements covered a path tracing update for 007 First Light, set to launch in September, along with upgrades to RTX Remix.
The expanded platform compatibility for GeForce Now — spanning Fire TV Sticks, Firefox, and now Valve hardware — suggests Nvidia is working to broaden the service’s reach across a wider range of devices and storefronts.
