Nvidia officially retired its GeForce Control Panel on May 26, 2026, ending more than two decades of service for the Windows application. The company confirmed that all actively supported Control Panel features for GeForce users have been moved to its newer Nvidia app.
“After 20 years of dedicated service, the classic Nvidia Control Panel is officially retiring for Game Ready and Studio Drivers,” Nvidia said in a statement. The retirement applies to consumer GeForce users, though professional users are not fully cut off yet. “For Nvidia RTX PRO users, the Nvidia Control Panel will continue to be supported until we have migrated professional features to the Nvidia app,” the company added.
Nvidia announced the transition more than two years ago, and spent the intervening period porting Control Panel features into its newer client. The Nvidia app now functions as an all-in-one tool capable of downloading and installing drivers, managing game settings, and toggling different DLSS modes.
For users who still have the old Control Panel installed, it will remain on their PCs unless they perform a clean driver install. The app will also stay available in the Microsoft Store, but Nvidia will not issue any new features or fixes for it.
Alongside the Control Panel retirement, Nvidia released a new Game Ready driver — version 610.47 — optimized for the launch of 007 First Light and including support for Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight.
