Life360 announced in 2026 a new line of $7.99 scannable pet tags and a set of pet care features, expanding the family safety app’s existing pet-tracking capabilities. The products launched on Tuesday, August 25.
The new pet tags display a QR code that, when scanned by anyone who finds a lost pet, automatically sends an alert through the Life360 app to the pet owner’s family. The person scanning the tag does not need to have the app installed. The scan also records the pet’s location at that moment, giving families a last known position if the animal runs off again before being retrieved. Families can update their contact details through the pet’s profile in the app.
Life360 first moved into pet tech after acquiring Tile, an AirTag rival, in 2021. The company launched GPS pet trackers as part of that expansion and says families have since added more than 8 million pets to their accounts. The scannable tags were developed for owners who do not want a bulky GPS tracker on their pet’s collar and do not require advanced features such as geofences or escape alerts.
Alongside the tags, Life360 is rolling out several care-tracking tools. Families can schedule and log whether a pet has been fed, walked, given medication, or had its litter cleaned, with all household members able to view the shared routines. A “Zoomies Alerts” feature for GPS tracker users flags bursts of pet activity at specific times of day, and a Weekly Roundup summarizes distance walked and which family member provided the most care during the week.
The company is also making its GPS pet trackers available to Silver plan subscribers at $99 per year, having previously limited them to higher-tier Gold and Platinum plans.
The tags and GPS trackers are available on Life360’s website and Amazon in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom.
