Meta launched a Threads app for its Meta Quest VR headsets on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, expanding the social platform’s reach beyond phones and into virtual reality.
The app supports core Threads functionality, including browsing feeds, making posts, liking and replying to posts, visiting profiles, searching, and watching videos. It is available to download from Meta’s store.
The Quest release follows Meta’s introduction of Threads on its Ray-Ban Display AR glasses last month and comes as the platform reported crossing 500 million monthly active users.
“We designed the new Threads app for Meta Quest to make using VR more social than ever,” Meta said in its announcement. “Whether you want to keep up with conversations during a game, riff on the latest TV show or hit album with friends, or simply do fast check-ins between daily tasks, Threads can enhance your VR experience with a dedicated native app.”
The launch suggests Meta is working to integrate Threads more deeply across its hardware lineup, with the platform now available on smartphones, AR glasses, and VR headsets. For Quest users, the app may offer a way to stay connected to social feeds without leaving the VR environment.
